The TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) has been mandatory for every foreigner entering Thailand since 1 May 2025. Free, from 3 days before arrival.
Last checked: 11 October 2026
In short (as of 11 October 2026)
The TDAC is the digital arrival form of the Thai Immigration Bureau. Mandatory since 1 May 2025 for everyone without Thai nationality, arriving by air, land or sea, including children and babies.
You can fill it in from 3 days before arrival (the day of arrival included) at tdac.immigration.go.th, and since 1 August 2026 also in the official app THIM.
The TDAC is free. According to the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports, sites that charge money are not government sites.
You need a new TDAC for every entry.
A TDAC is not a visa.
This article is for everyone with a Dutch or Belgian passport who travels to Thailand: tourists, but also people returning from a trip abroad with a visa, an extension or a re-entry permit. The general Thai rules in this guide apply to all nationalities; the parts about embassies and documents are written for Dutch and Belgian passport holders, so if you hold another passport, check the requirements of the Thai embassy or consulate that serves you.
What the TDAC is
The TDAC replaces the paper arrival card TM.6. Under the order of the Immigration Bureau (Order 106/2568, signed on 28 April 2025, in force from 1 May 2025), a completed TDAC counts as the legally required TM.6. The order states explicitly that it is not a visa application.
The data also serve as a health declaration. If you were in a country on a list of the Thai Ministry of Public Health in the 2 weeks before arrival, you get extra health questions.
Who has to fill in the TDAC
According to the FAQ on the official TDAC site:
Mandatory: all non-Thai travellers, including children and babies and holders of a diplomatic passport, arriving by air, land or sea, with any type of visa or visa exemption.
Not needed: transit passengers who do not pass through immigration control (if you leave the airport, you do need one), passengers on technical stopovers, and crew members.
Thai citizens do not have to fill in a TDAC (Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 10 April 2025).
The Netherlands: the Dutch travel advice (last changed 24 September 2026) says that travellers with a Dutch passport must fill in the TDAC, from 3 days before arrival, and that children need one too.
Belgium: the Belgian Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs (last updated 4 September 2026) writes that all foreign visitors must fill in the TDAC since 1 May 2025, by air, land or sea, and that transit travellers who do not pass through immigration control do not have to fill it in.
When to fill in the TDAC
From 3 days before arrival. The FAQ: "within 3 days in advance of arriving in Thailand (including the date of arrival)". The embassy in The Hague uses the same wording.
Not earlier. The TDAC site says "no more than 3 days prior to their arrival in Thailand" and "up to 72 hours before your entry".
Again for every entry. A TDAC is valid for one trip on the arrival date you entered.
No reminder. The TDAC site sends no reminders; put it in your own calendar.
The sources differ on the exact first day. In April 2025 the Tourism Authority of Thailand gave this example: arrival on 5 May, submission from 2 May. By that count, for an arrival on 5 November the first day is 2 November; "including the date of arrival" can also be read as 3 November. Filling it in on 3, 4 or 5 November fits both readings.
How to fill in the TDAC: step by step
Go to the official site or app. The only address is https://tdac.immigration.go.th. The Immigration Bureau's app THIM has been in the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery since 1 August 2026.
Choose "Arrival Card" and choose one person or a group. One submission holds a maximum of 10 travellers. You may fill in the TDAC for family members, children or group travellers.
Fill in the details in English: passport details, flight number (or vehicle number over land) and arrival date, address in Thailand, purpose of travel, countries where you stayed in the 2 weeks before arrival, email address. You cannot save a draft; according to the FAQ it takes about 3 to 5 minutes per person.
Submit and keep the confirmation. You receive the TDAC with a QR code by email and can download it immediately. Printing is not required; showing it on a phone is enough. The FAQ recommends a printout if you do not carry a device.
Show the QR code at immigration control if you are asked for it.
Make changes before entry if needed. With "Update Arrival Card" you can change everything except full name, passport number, nationality and date of birth. You look up the submission with the TDAC number, the date of birth and the nationality. If one of those fixed details is wrong, submit a new TDAC; only the latest submission counts. Make changes through the same channel you used to submit: website or app.
Arrived without a TDAC, or the site does not work
At Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Phuket, Chiang Mai and Hat Yai airports there are kiosks and wifi. You can photograph a QR code from the kiosk; the details are also sent by email.
If there is a technical fault: take a screenshot of the error message and go to the airport or immigration staff.
No QR code received: go to the immigration officer at the checkpoint.
Help by email: contact@tdac.immigration.go.th.

Common mistakes
Paying for the TDAC. The TDAC is free. Type the address yourself: tdac.immigration.go.th. According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, do not trust any site or page that presents itself as an intermediary or asks for money.
Filling it in too early. You may not submit earlier than 3 days before arrival.
A typo in name, passport number, nationality or date of birth. Those fields cannot be changed. Submit a new TDAC; the latest one counts.
One TDAC for several trips. After every trip abroad, also with a re-entry permit or after a visa run, you need a new TDAC.
Forgetting the children. Babies and children also need their own TDAC.
Incorrect details. According to the FAQ, the immigration service can refuse entry to someone with incorrect details.
Where the sources contradict each other
First day to submit: the FAQ and The Hague say "within 3 days ... (including the date of arrival)"; the Tourism Authority of Thailand gave the example of arrival on 5 May, submission from 2 May; the government portal thailand.go.th says "at least 72 hours before their trip". What counts is the Immigration Bureau's own TDAC site; it says "no more than 3 days prior to their arrival in Thailand".
Changing the passport number: the FAQ and the order say it is not possible; a release note of 28 May 2025 reports "enabled editing of Passport No.". Go by the strictest reading: if there is a mistake, submit a new TDAC.
Permanent residents: thailand.go.th excludes permanent residents; the FAQ says "all non-Thai nationals" and the Tourism Authority of Thailand also mentions long-term residents. If you have a permanent residence permit, ask the immigration service whether you need to submit a TDAC.
Border Pass: only the Tourism Authority of Thailand and a few Thai embassies (Colombo, Athens) name holders of a Border Pass as an exception, not the FAQ.
Travel agencies: the FAQ allows a travel agency to submit if the client gives permission; the Ministry of Tourism and Sports warns against sites that present themselves as intermediaries or ask for money.
Name of the app: "Thai Immigration Application" (Immigration Bureau, 25 September 2026) and "Thailand Immigration Management" (Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Belgian travel advice).
